MAckenzie adamick
Mackenzie is a Boston-based, Elliot Norton Award-winning Composer and Sound Designer.
She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she was first exposed to the world of music and theatre. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University, where she studied as a classically trained musician, filmmaker, audio technician and engineer, as well as a designer for the theatre arts. With her background in music and composition, she bases her soundscapes and designs on a musical foundation. She enjoys working on projects where her work and original music can play as much of a storytelling role as the visual components on stage.
Her work has been heard at Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, The Hub Theater Company of Boston, Island Shakespeare Festival, Wheelock Family Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Company, Lean Ensemble Theater, New Repertory Theatre, Praxis Stage, Boston University, Western Carolina University, and Suffolk University.
Mackenzie obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sound Design from Boston University and currently freelances in the Greater Boston area, the West Coast, and the Southeastern region. She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local USA 829, Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association, and Maestra.
